Emu Bay Railway - 12 Class Beyer Garratt - 4

As predicted by a fellow modeller, the vertical connection for the front bogie did not survive testing - though it was fine on all tangents on flat track, it derailed regularly on grade. It has thus been replaced by a more traditional rear mounted swivelling mount.

Well, we can't have it all our own way... You should see the muckups I've perpetrated. Except that unlike you I don't have the courage to put 'em online...

Hi Andy,

I have found the best outlines of scratchbuilding steam engines to be the honest ones - it's encouraging to know we all make mistakes and are learning. The least I can do is be similarly honest. No doubt there'll be quite a bit more honesty before the 12 Class is done! Cheers, Andrew
